How do I turn on the carbon monoxide detector
As some of you know, I just bought a 184SLX. Working out some of the bugs but I'm struggling to get the Carbon Monoxide detector to turn on.
Is there a switch? Should it automatically turn on when I connect my battery?
I feel like a dope as I haven't been able to get it working and the owner's manual is of no help.
Thanks.

It should be on all the time when a charged battery is installed. The unit works off of 12vdc and is not switched.
Start on the back of the unit and look for 12vdc. It will be fused in the dc distribution panel, I believe.

Unless thing have changed it is always on, no switch. May be a fuse, loose wire or bad detector.

Pull the detector off the wall. There may be a fuse behind inside the wall.

Question? How do you know it is not working? Don't recall what year your TT is. When they go bad, they begin to annoyingly chirp.
Are you talking about the Gas/carbon detector that is mounted low on the floor? If so, grab a can of compressed air, or fire stick (do not light), and leak a little bit of gas by it, and see if it works.
Again it is working off the 12V system. So you need to be plugged in or have the battery disconnect engaged.

Guess there is a little green light that lets you know when it is turned on. I can't get it to come on so assume it is not working.

I thought there was a green light, but did not want to stay as it has been a while since I looked at mine.
If you have a multimeter or use a 12V light bulb; pull it, and check to see if you have any 12V power to the back of the unit. Could be a bad fuse. Do not recall what else is on that circuit.
