How much weight on slide?

I'm trying to figure out some storage space and was thinking about the bunkhouse in my TT. There's a lot of room on the slide side to store a few things but how much weight can I put there without overloading the slide motors?

The slide mechanism on the bunkhouse is a rack and pinion through the frame.

Any thoughts?

I don't know about the weight on the slide limitation, but another issue to consider is how far aft the bunks are. The Equal-i-zer 4-point is great hitch, but go slowly adding weight that far back to be sure you don't get into sway issues.

That's a good point, one I hadn't considered. I could certainly see getting into a "tail that wags the dog" situation if not cautious. I'm looking to put maybe 100-120lbs in the bunkhouse, mostly storing my new Camp Chef stove with accessories.

The tongue weight on my TT is heavy. Jayco lists it as 1185lbs dry. I already have tools and gear in the front storage. I need to scale the tongue loaded. The Equalizer bars I'm using are 1400lbs rated. I suspect I'm over that already.

I have those bars and factory TW of 1200#. Our Eagle's front closet is nearly full width and full of clothing. Add the stuff on the A frame and the TW is over the limit. So I move weight to the rear of the trailer when we travel.

I asked an engineer what percentage of the weight added to the rear would reduce TW and if I remember correctly he said approximately 40%.

I hope that helps. And if my memory is wrong someone here might have a better number
