Good question. I’ve done that with my 5th. In my case the landing gear supported the front and I used 2x4 cribbing to build a tower behind the axles, maybe 4 feet or so. On top of the tower I used a 20T bottle jack to lift. Adjacent to that tower I made a 2nd tower with a jack stand on top. I went side to side lifting a couple inches at a time until I’d taken most of the weight off the axles and it looked pretty level. Using a floor jack on the axle as close to the spring as I could I lifted a tire free of the ground and removed it. Lowering the jack would leave the hub hanging around 8 inches from the ground. Repeat 3 times and all 4 hubs were hanging free. This was to install my wet bolts. For a bumper-pull 4 towers would be necessary plus one for a jack. I would think roughly 25% of the length from the front and back corners would be a good position for the towers. Note that I put a block of wood on top of the jack and jack stand to help distribute the weight a bit.
I chose the 20T bottle jack for its lift range rather than its weight lifting ability.
The pics below will explain it better than I can.
