Interesting find

I posted on here a while ago about my fridge drain plugging up and leaking into the fridge. Would easily blow out. Well it happened again, was going to pour a bleach solution in there to clean it out. I opened the outside panel and pulled on the drain hose. There was an additional 18" shoved up inside the panel. Pulled out and it drained right down. Cut it shorted and we are all good now.

I did that with morning shortly after I bought it. It was looped around and I thought that would be a nightmare when it comes time for it to try to release fluid.

Interesting. I wish mine was longer so I could route the hose through the access panel to drip outside.

my camper is in storage. It is the black hose sticking through the plastic access panel on the outside of the trailer behind your fridge

Keep in mind you want a little slack in the drain hose. Leave enough of a sag to look like the P-trap under the bathroom and kitchen sink. This gully of water will keep the hot outside air from entering into the fridge. Letting hot outside air into the fridge would be like leaving the door slightly ajar. Makes keeping the inside of the fridge cold harder than it needs to be.

I have a new 2022 SLX 264BH with the 12V only compressor fridge. NO panel on the outside of the unit to access any fridge stuff.

Where would my drain be?

I have a Furrion 12V refrigerator in my 2021 274CKDS and it does have a panel on the outside. No condensate hose there, just access to the 12V wiring.

I don't think you would have a drain tube.

It's an Absorption refrigerator thing. The aluminum fins inside the refrigerator sweat, or condensate, that drips into a tray inside the fridge directly below the fins, and that tray has the 3/8~1/2in tube that drains out the back of the fridge to outside the RV.

Your 12v compressor fridge, to the best of my knowledge, has nothing like this process. So nothing for you to worry about.

fridge condensation

When moist air is chilled you get condensation no matter the process. Residential fridge will usually have a drain to a drip tray that is evaporated by a fan and heat from the compressor.

Thanks, I will try to adjust, cut off and hangs straight down.

The “P-Trap” will also keep any creepy crawlers out.

Factory plug in drainline

I was not aware of drain line until your earlier post. I too had drainage issues. Went outside and found other end of tube and found it had a plastic plug stuck in the end of it. Pulled it out and now condensate issues in fridge are gone. Only thing I can figure is the plug was there to keep ants etc out of unit until put in service?? Amazing what you can learn on this site.

Was your plug solid, or did it have holes like this one? In my last 3 RVs, they've had this one. Water easily drains through the sive, and it keeps the bugs out.

Bingo

You are correct. I had saved plug and looked at after seeing your post. It does have a hole which was plugged With black trash and appeared to be solid. Cleaned with a toothpick and replaced. See pic. Thanks!!
