Jayco 184BH Friction Sway Control

Bought a Friction Sway Control Setup for my Jayco 184BH and the tongue channel steel is so small that the standard 6 bolt hole ball mount for the sway control cannot bolt on. Does someone make a smaller mount or do you guys just weld them on?

The Andersen WDH has integral sway control and is perfect for your trailer. I have never even had a tiny sway in bad wind, passing, and very hard stops with my Jeep pulling a 195RB for about 8,000 miles so far. It is also very light and attached to my frame easily.

I have a Full size Silverado crew cab and only a 400lb tongue weight so I don't really need a WD hitch. On my prior small campers I've used a regular hitch with the tab on it and just the sway control. I just wondered if someone makes a smaller frame piece.

I've pulled a 195rb with a Dodge 150 for 3 years with no bars. It doesn't sway at all.

Since you already have the mount, I would probably just weld it into place. You could also get a second ball like the one on hitch head end, drill a hole through the frame rail and bolt that through. I don't think the stress is that bad on these in normal operation, they are not load bearing, so I wouldn't worry much about it needing a whole lot of strength.

See if you can use a back plate with bolts and be sure you just put in one zip bolt for sliding.
