Jayflight drops 27RLS for 28RLS
The popular 27 RLS has been dropped for 2016 and the slightly different floorplan of the 28RLS has been added. Its so new there are no specs available yet but they are likely similar.
28RLS
27RLS (now dealer stock only)

Sorry. I like the 2015 over the 2016. Maybe because we like our WH 27DSRL.

Well, from the looks of the floor plan, you gain a linen closet and a stiff neck when you watch TV from the sofa!

Actually the new floorplan loses the linen closet and has the possibly better TV viewing angle from the sofa,

I love the idea of the angled tv. Not the TT for me but love the new lay out.

We love our 27RLS floorplan. Glad we got it. Very likely we would not have bought a 28RLS.

The 28RLS could have a large linen closet if they put in a second slide in the master bedroom and with that angled wall for the TV that would be a killer TT.

Or, ditch the second door to the bedroom and added a chest or linen closet where the door sits now\corner.

I seen the new Jayco 2016 28RLS at an RV show here last month. Why in the world did they change the floorplan? They had a winner with the 27RLS!
You do not get a good view of the TV from the arm chairs. The large linen closet was one of the best selling features of the 27RLS. (just ask my wife). Plus the new light fixtures for this model are ugly.
I am happy with my '15 27RLS. I would not have bought the 28RLS.

Right, and I wouldn't that extra door in my bedroom especially if I was a sleep walker. That would be a cooold trip outside.

I prefer the old layout myself. One of the reasons we purchased our 2016 WH 27DSRL is the straight-on viewing angle of the tv from the recliners. To me, it's funny to hear others say they like the new design because of a potential improved viewing angle from the sofa or dinette. I also wish they'd add a slideout in the bedroom area and rotate the bed 90 degrees. We considered some V-front TT's which have this floorplan when shopping. Poor Jayco...they'll never be able to please us all.

I probably shouldn't have said I like the new one better myself.
A) never seen them
B) didn't consider the recliners
C) don't even have a tv in my trailer
I do however like the idea of the angled tv for better viewing from couch/table in a set up like mine. No recliners.

They will probably change it again this year, since they went from a 26rls to a 27rls to a 28rls in two years.

We have the 29rlds (2013 last year of production) We like that floor plan over all others and the Jayco quality is better than the comps. The main difference from ours to the 28rls is the length and the additional slide in the bedroom . Makes a huge difference to have the additional storage. LOVE not having to walk thru the bath to get to the bedroom.

We have the 2015 27RLS, it was the only trailer we found that we could check off virtually every important box on our checklist. We prefer the walk through bath with the linen closet. Below the linen closet is also the hot water heater (easy access). On the outside is a hatch where we keep all the cords and water hoses. Works really good.
The one thing I do not like about ours is that we cannot open/close the slide with the chairs in place. You also cannot rotate the chairs enough to close the slide. Hopefully, they used that extra foot of length to fix that issue.

I dont like the idea that everytime you want to go into the master bedroom you have to walk through the bathroom.

+1
So the new model, 28RLS eliminates the need to cut through the bathroom.(if I'm reading the diagrams right) which is a plus IMO. It was the older 27RLS that had you going through the bathroom. On the negative side, it looks like the 28RLS has no linen closet as someone pointed out. That is NOT good IMO. I'd be willing to cut through the bathroom in favor of a linen closet.
(That's the one thing I don't care for in the design of my new 38FDDS. You have to cut through the bathroom to get to the bedroom, but it has a nice deep linen closet)

What if you are trapped in the bedroom and your significant other decides to take an extended bathroom break?
Walking through the bathroom to get to the bedroom would be a deal breaker for me. I prefer the new layout but since I am not shopping it doesn't really matter what I think.
Cheers

It looks there's a door to the outside from the bedroom.
