Looking at buying a larger trailer

Hello everyone, new to the group here. We currently have a 2015 jay flight 23mb trailer and are looking to buy a larger one on a budget. We found a 2012 Eagle Ultralite 314bds that was very well taken care of. Does anybody have any feedback on things to look out for on this unit? What would a realistic value of a 7-8 year old trailer should be? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I don't know how accurate those guides are.

Best to start looking at what trailers are selling for on CL,RV Trader,Etc-.
Dealers are normally higher then private sellers.

Devils in the details, so start by looking slowly, is it time to re-caulk? Slide seals, around the roof (vents/front & rear caps). Put on some coveralls and slide around under look for rusting and repairs. Lastly operate everything.

Good Luck.

Biggest thing I would look for is water infiltration. Water does a lot of damage.

My 2012, needs caulking every year now. Start with the roof. Check the caulking. If it has lots of different shades that is a good sign. It means they have kept a close eye, and tried to prevent damage, as they have caulked as needed. Check the side walls in the corners, and around the windows too. Usually it is easier to see water damage from left open windows from the inside.

Other than that check everything over, test everything. Look up how to read tire code dates. Trailer tires should be replace every 4-5 years.

In addition to the above mentioned items, if the larger trailer is also heavier do you have enough TV to handle the additional weight?

I think so, I currently have a 2018 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi rated at 12500lbs towing.

My 2012 Eagle has held up very well. It just seems that they were built better back then but as stated above, check everything with a fine tooth comb.
