PD4045KA Convertor Questions

1. My convertor is making a whining noise lately. It changes frequency/disappears if 12V devices like lights are turned on. I've tightened all the terminals, but the noise remains. It's this a concern?

2. There is a jumper labelled H4 on the board. There is no jumper on it. It reads jumper off - lead acid, jumper on - gel cell. If I replace my lead acid with an AGM battery, should this jumper remain off, or do I need to find a jumper to install on it?Click image for larger version

An AGM battery is still a lead plate battery and therefore you would not need a jumper. Happy camping!

Some capacitors and inductors can sometimes emit audible noise. Usually it happens at one particular frequency. That said I don't think it necessarily indicates a pending problem. If the sound were coming from the fan that might indicate the fan is about to go.

Okay.

The noise was not the fan as the fan was not running when I heard the noise.

I took the board out and used some compressed air to clean it up a bit.

I will reinstall it tomorrow.
