Quality of aftermarket rims

Hi Guys,

I will be switching from 3,500 lbs axles to 5,200 lbs axles. One of my axles is bent. Since the current axles are a bare minimum for my trailer (7,500 lbs max), I decided to upgrade to forget about this limit in the future.

Unfortunately, I need to upgrade wheels to 15 inches. I was going to buy new GY tires anyway, so the rims are really the additional cost.

I am looking at some rims at ebay

2 pack for $93

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pack-Trai...wAAOSwdd5dIDfz

2 pack for

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Two-Aluminu...cAAOSwl4NbJDHq

Same seller, same size. What is the difference? Would the cheaper rim be junk? Whatever Jayco is installing is probably not top quality anyway.

thanks!

They both look good, just two different styles, which can explain the price difference. The seller has over 159,000 sales, so it should be OK. Only 19 negative feedbacks, and not all for wheels.
Contact the seller with any questions about product and packaging.

If you want to run 80 psi the wheel needs to be rated for 2830.

Not sure on your year of trailer but I know for at least several years Jayco's wheels came from Sendel and you can still get them from a variety of places. Not aware of any wheel issues from Sendel that I have heard anyway and quite a few styles

Aluminium Trailer Wheels | Sendel Wheels

When I upgraded my wheel size at least at the time this place had the best prices on Sendel wheels however I don't doubt that best price place changes frequently

The part # on each is one digit apart. Maybe the cheaper ones are discontinued?

OK, did a little digging, it looks like the more expensive ones are the current model. Could not find the cheaper one on the manufacturer's site. Both are rated for 2830#.

Just for comparison, Eastern Marine has a similar wheel. Eastern Marine has pretty competitive prices.

I bought the cheaper version (5 rims). The seller informed me that the quality between the cheaper and the more expensive should be similar. The cheaper version is discontinued. When they are sold, they will be gone.
