Range hood light

I installed a digital volt/amp meter in the switch panel where the battery and tank idiot lights are mounted. This gives me better visibility regarding battery condition and battery load. Not surprisingly, the LED fixtures in the camper consume almost no current. If I turn on all the lights in the camper, the amp meter barely registers a load. I found that the oven hood light is not an LED bulb. It consumes about an amp when on. This is more than the rest of the lights combined. An LED replacement is readily available at automotive stores. Mine was a 914 bulb. If you chose to replace yours, check your bulb first for a match.

Thanks for the info. Is the LED range light brighter than the yellowish stock bulb?

i think the brightness is about the same. the LED was expensive however. i think i paid $20 for a two pack. probably not worth the price unless you do some boondocking.

You should be able to use a 921 bulb - just flip it around if it doesn't light up as these are unidirectional. I just did the same thing for range hood and the reading lights. Got 6 of em for $12 here:

I replaced mine, but not for the load, for the heat. You could all but use it for a warming lamp for food sitting under it.

Replaced with one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's listed as "currently unavailable" right now though...

But the brightness and color are great. I'm not a fan of the blueish or bright white hue that some LED bulbs can cast.

Interestingly enough, I thought I was done replacing incandescent with LED after that one, but discovered all the lights in my storage bays are regular bulbs. I spent about a year going through my travel trailer replacing bulbs with LED, and when I traded it on my MH, it had LEDs already. If I had known about the storage bay lights, I would have switched the lights in my TT back out and kept the LEDs...

These are what I used to replace all my old 12v interior lights including the range hood 3 years ago. Haven't had to replace one yet and the light is nice and soft.
