Wind took Rayzar Z1 Antenna-What is the Wind rating?

Lost my Rayzar Z1 due to wind while driving. The shaft snapped off at the base. Has anyone heard what Winegard rates this antenna wind rating at? I never had an issue on my old trailer with the crank up antenna. I want to get more details before installing another Rayzar Z1. I have a message into Winegard asking but have not received any response as of yet.

I was heading south from San Antonio, TX to Kingsiville, TX. Driving at a speed of approx 60-65 mph with a 45 degree to zero degree headwinds from the front drivers side at approx 18-20 mph most of the drive. It wasn't removed by any low hanging tree branches.

Thanks....

I am on my third Rayzor. Both low branches. I am thankful for the broken base. It's the weakest link. Otherwise, it may rip the roof. Hardest part when replacing is fishing for the coax in the attic.

Springhook,
What methods did you use to fish for the cable?

Thanks

Ironically, I used a springhook and a coat-hanger. In both my instances, the thin coax from the antenna broke off also. That dropped the thicker coach coax into the attic. I disassembled the pointer from the bedroom ceiling allowing me to grab the coax from the ceiling. I then sent the coat hanger from the roof, thru the ceiling and suspended it from dropping thru. I attached the coax to the coat hanger and pulled it up thru the ceiling and roof, then attached the coach coax to the thinner coax. You DO NOT have to remove the antenna base from the roof. You can detach the antenna from the base by pressing the key on the base and turning the antenna out of the key. There may be a locking screw. My first one had one, second one did not. "Bon Chance"

Springhook,
Thanks for the information. I received the new Rayzar Z1 today. I don't understand how you can remove the new antenna from its base and utilize the old base. I have looked this over and cannot see what you call a "key". Can you elaborate some more on the process?

Thanks

So, I uploaded some pics. If they show up I will do some editing.

OK, here goes:
Top pic is what Razor should look like normally, except not sideways.
Third is the antenna, fourth is the base and fifth is the middle section. All are the three pieces of the top side unit.
Sixth is the keyway or button that needs to be pressed in.
Second pic is a POSSIBLE screw position.

So, in order to disassemble the antenna from the middle section, you must press the button in the sixth pic and while the button is pressed in, turn the middle section clockwise til it stops. Then pull it apart. The middle section is USUALLY the broken part.

Springhook,

Thanks for the photos. They did give me a visual of the information I needed. I hope to tackle the replacement installation in a few days. Right now the wife has me busy staining/treating the wood picket fence in the back yard.

The antenna was replaced very easily with the information provided by Springhook. A quick easy 20 minute job. Winegard never did respond to my request for information on the wind rating for the antenna.

Just want to express my gratitude. I am about to tackle the same project. My antenna had wings.
