Roof Gutter

Hello Everyone! Was wondering if anyone had ever had the issue with their gutter coming loose on their travel trailer? Is it easy to fix? From what I see the sealer let go allowing the gutter to pull loose. Thanks for the help! (Please see attached photo)

If it's like the gutters on our TT, there's a screw holding it, also. That would be hidden under the trim strip. Some more sealant under, and around it will secure it to the way it was.

tylerbrown007,

Welcome to JOF

Definitely needs to be re-attached to protect against moisture intrusion.

Most gutter rails are attached with Butyl putty tape the full length behind the gutter rail, which also seals the screws. I would confirm that the screw(s) aren't stripped where the gutter came loose, and look for any signs (rusty screws, etc.) that moisture may have found it's way in.

Once the gutter section is re-attached trim off any access putty tape that you may have re-applied (if needed), then as mentioned add the matching (non-sag) RV caulk along the top of edge of the gutter rail/roof joint.

If you are still under warranty, I would take the TT to your RV dealer for a service warranty claim.

+1 about taking it in if you are under warranty. Safer than doing it yourself, having water damage later and them telling you it's not their problem now.

Wondering why Jayco would locate

I had the gutter over the rear bed slideout of my x213 come lose like that. I think either the rear wall is not completely flat, or the gutter was warped before they put it on. The dealer fixed it under warranty. However, I have no doubt they just put a thicker screw in it. I am expecting it to come lose again, so I am keeping an eye on it.

I agree with everyone else, it needs to be fixed to stop water intrusion at the point where it is screwed to the wall.
