Shower Clogged Up

I have a 2015 34RSBS that I am living in full time while working on a new nuclear power plant in Georgia. I have had this wonderful home since Feb. 2015. I have drained my grey and black water tanks religiously, but my shower is clogged up. I shower and am standing in an inch or so when I finish. My question is, what can I use to get rid of the hair and skin that has gone down the drain? Is something like Draino safe enough for the system? Thanks in advance for your time and replies.

Go to a hardware store and get a drain snake. It's a long piece of plastic with little hooks on it. Put it down your drain as far as it can go and then pull it out slowly. Do this a few times until nothing comes out. You would be shocked as to what accumulates down there. It's a cheap tool and a good place to start your problem solving.

Try a toilet plunger over the drain, make sure to have enough water to plunge several times. If that doesn't work try a small plumbers snake available at your local big box store.

Just pop the little cover with holes in it out and you can get whatever is clogging it up out with a tooth pick. Flush with hot water and replace the grate.

I'm with Norty1. There is a strainer in the drain in the shower pan (or tub). Yank it, clean it and reinstall.

It's real tough to clog 1.5" pipe from a shower.

Double-check that you don't have a second gray tank, just in case.

Either me or my wife are losing hair. That's what stops mine up.

Once you get it unclogged, buy a

or something like it at a dollar store.

In mine it's both but I'm in the lead.

Aren't the showers vented? Maybe check that as well.

I would start with the little zip snake. Next question are you sure the Grey water tank is not full? They fill up fast!

Any issues with draining the sinks? They are usually tied to the same grey tank.

It is worth checking the roof vent to ensure no Mud Dabber or any other thing is plugging up the vent.

Mike837 is right, before you rent or buy a snake, pop off the drain cover in the shower and check the cross bars. My wife has long hair and this will collect over a few months. Very simple, use a small screen driver, insert in the small cut out on the outer diameter and you will likely see your issue.

That's the answer in the 1st response.
