Slide out in or out while stored?

When your RV isn't going to be used for an indeterminate period of time, should the slide out be in, out (if feasible) or does it not matter?

What about if you know the rig will not be used for quite awhile when you park it?

I've done it both ways, but like the idea of leaving the slide closed so the seals are not exposed to the sun and the weather.

Didn't think of that. I live in Florida, so that's a real consideration.

^ that and the oak trees along the driveway drop a lot of leaves so the slide is in to keep it somewhat clean as well.

I've wondered about that too, mainly from a sagging situation if it's left out, so I store mine closed. But, many dealers leave them out for extended periods while on display, so.....

I always store with the slide closed, even for short periods. This way no debris can be blown in, no animals might decide that the seals are dessert, and no chance of the elements affecting them at all. Not sure why people would want to leave it out while storing; maybe I'll learn something from this post.

I leave mine open all season at the house going on 7 years. I don't worry about it at all. I have enough to worry about.
