A game of inches...

Well I took the family out for our shakedown trip in the TT this weekend , and, well I'll just leave these photos here. Should be good for a few laughs.

I think I need to add cargo straps to my Top 10 tool list.

doggonecat,

OUCH ......., enough said.

Your RV dealer adjusted your WDH under unloaded conditions, and many times they get this wrong. Hopefully they gave you all the documentation of your new WDH.

Your approach of taking measurements and readjusting the WDH under loaded conditions is a good start and should get you in the ballpark.

As mentioned, a visit to the CAT scale will provide you with great weight data and confirm your WDH rating/adjustment.

Ugh

Sorry to see the damage. Hope you had a great trip otherwise and at the end of the day it could always be worse.

I just got her back from the dealership with all repairs completed.

Just to give everyone an idea of what this kind of mistake can cost in time and money, here are some details:

On March 22, I damaged the awning by hitting an oak tree limb.

A local RV repair shop removed the damaged awning for $160 (reimbursed by insurance).

On March 26, I called the RV dealership I bought from to make an appointment for service. The earliest date I could get was May 10.

After bringing the TT in and leaving it there, insurance claims adjusters had to inspect the vehicle damage and negotiate the repair cost with the dealership. Once approved the parts could be ordered.

The total repair job consisted of:

Remove/Replace awning
Remove/Replace top section panel on siding
Apply Decal
Re-stretched roof material to eliminate damage along top edge
Repaired gutter
Total cost: $7476.13

I picked up the trailer and drove her home on June 25.

Thanks to full insurance coverage with AAA, I only had to cover the $500 deductible.

I just had some warranty work done at the dealership.

*Left front sliding window wouldn't latch; dealer adjusted and lubricated slide
*Remove/replace shade on same window. Shade wouldn't stay up, and cord was prematurely wearing out.
*remove/replace window shade on another window for same reason.
* refrigerator door was opening during transit; unit was mounted out of square; dealer remounted fridge, adjusted for squareness.
* water leaking from shower pan; p-trap was cracked; remove/replace p-trap.
* replaced and re-routed vent hoses on fresh water tank; was forming siphon which drained tank during transit. For more details on this fix, see https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...tml#post768227
