Surge protector

Hi out there, were out camping and my progressive EMS-pt30x is acting up. It's giving me a e4 code. When I unplug it and plug it back in it reads every thing is normal but not letting power to the trailer. I have had to plug directly into pedestal . Has anyone else had this issue with theres. Thanks

I believe the E4 code is low voltage. Shut the breaker off, unplug the unit then plug it back in then turn the breaker back on. The EMS should reset itself. If it doesn't, call Progressive tech support. I must tell you though, this is exactly what happened to mine. Tech told me to fill out a warranty claim online. I had a brand new one in less than a week.

E-4 is low input voltage. If you are camping, try another pedestal and see if the same code pops up. If so, notify the manager and verify with a voltmeter. Low voltage will damage your air conditioner.

I did unplug and reset pedestal breaker several times. Error code goes away all reads normal . Plug trailer in no power at first then came on for a minute then goes out with the e4 code several times . Plugged it into another pedestal it reads normal also but can't plug trailer to it to see it is supplying power without moving trailer. I'll ask the ranger to see if someone qualified can test it out. Then approach progressive about it.

The pedestal outlet needs to be checked with a voltmeter. There is about 180 second delay before power will be applied to the trailer after you plug in the EMS. I doubt your EMS is the problem...

The EMS should give a voltage reading right on the display. What does it say the voltage is? That would be the first step to see if it's a true low voltage issue or a problem with the EMS.

My PT30X failed last month. It also was not passing any current into the RV but mine did not show any error code. Cycling the pedestal had no effect.

Emailed Progressive Industries tech support and after listing symptoms they said file a warranty claim. Replacement unit showed up one week later. Wish everyone stood behind their products so readily.

Thanks for all the replies, I forgot about the reset time of a 180sec. I plugged it in and waited and heard the unit click and reset. Power is running through the unit to the trailer at 121 to 124volts. Hope no more issues the ranger station was closed so I'll talk to them in the a.m. Thanks again everyone

During the countdown of the time delay, an indicator in the lower right corner will blink.
