Tote Tank Mount

After trading our eagle for a jayflight without a ladder I purchased a camco tote tank bumper mount https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Rhino-B.../dp/B07P8B9WHD

But the new jayflight has a 2 1/2" receiver under the bumper that is welded and doesn't leave enough room to fit the bolts between for the tote mount. Anyone run into this before or have any ideas? I though about just making some longer plates for underneath the bumper and just putting the back bolt behind bumper and Receiver mount but its too far under the actual camper to work.

Honestly, I wouldn't bolt anything to the factory bumper. They are just too thin. I made a removable bumper that I bolt my swagman pedestal style bike rack to. Much better.

What is less thin about the bumper you added than the factory bumper? Not a lot of weight to the Tote tank maybe 30-40 lbs. I was looking at how the bumpers are setup and clearly they weren't made for a lot of weight, and even on mine the Receiver is just welded to the same single flat edge of the framerail that the bumper is just that the Square tube is much thicker walled.

Although I may use that idea and just make a smaller version to put my tote tank on.

The factory bumper is MAYBE 1/16" thick. It's so thin I attached my bike rack to it just to mock it up for spread distance of the bike wheels. I didnt have it clamped on that tight and it was already starting to crush it.
The first one I made, for our previous trailer, I went a little over on the overkill factor and made it out of 3/16" thick wall. That son of a gun was HEAVY! I welded dual receivers to the bottom of the frame rails so it basically had 2 insert connect points. You could pull a semi out of a ditch with it.
Once we got the Northpoint I had to make another one. This time I made this one out of 11ga, which is basically 1/8" thick wall. Much lighter to handle with one person too.
It may even say in your manual or even a sticker on the bumper that says it is not meant to have anything attached to it.

Hard to tell from the pic, but yeah, I had a ladder on old rig but new one no ladder so I needed a way to put the tote on. this seemed like the thing but the receiver is an issue so probably will have to do something like this

I knew I did a thread on making it, I just had to search for it.
Here's the link to it with some pics.

If you want more pics, let me know. I can get more and send them.

I use that exact same tote mount for my 15 gallon Rhino tote. Since the spare tire on my 2019 Jayflight 154BH Baja Edition was attached to the bumper in the center location, I moved it to the left about 12" and placed the tote mounting brackets on the right side, and it works for me. Can you not offset the tote bracket to either side of the hitch receiver? My bumper is very stout and easily holds both the spare tire and the tote without any issue. The 4" x 4" bumper's steel walls on my trailer are at least 1/8" thick and do not deform from these add-ons.

Return the Camco mount, get one of these and plug it into the receiver and put the tote on it.
