I use a pin like this from TSC,
https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...ble-pin-length
And instead of using the R clip I use a Lynch pin like this,
https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...c?cm_vc=-10005
Then I put a small Master lock thru the ring of the Lynch pin around the pin shaft itself. The lock is big enough that it wont fit thru the ring, the spring steel of the lynch pin is impossible to cut even with a big pair of side cutters. Youd need a decent size pair of bolt cutters that are too big and bulky for most smash and grab theives. Real theives that carry bolt cutters, anit going after hitches.

We use this one, with a padlock through the pivot.
http://https://www.etrailer.com/Hitc.../37201031.html
It may not be the fanciest, but the hitch comes off when we set up, and gets locked to the trailer tongue, and the padlock isn't easy to get at. Nothing is theft proof if they really are out to get it. It just slows them down a little, or they move on to an easier target.

I use a bitch lock. But also use a cable lock, thru the spokes of the trailer tires so if someone smashes off the hitch lock the cable lock will keep the trailer from being towed But if someone is determined. They will steal it

I use a
Master Lock Trailer Lock, Trailer Coupler Lock, Fits 2-5/16 in. Couplers, 378DAT
Size:2-5/16-Inch Couplers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I don't expect it will stop a professional, just someone trying to create some havoc.

There's no lock made that will stop someone if they are determined enough to get your stuff.
That's why I keep a GPS Tracker hid in my RV all the time, and good insurance.

I use this one from Amazon.... it works PERFECT for me.
Note: They put it on sale every once in a while for like $19.95, that's when I bought mine. It's $25 a month for the cell service, or less long term. All I do is charge the battery every two weeks. I guess some wouldn't pay the $25 a month for the cell connection, but my RV is worth whatever it costs to keep it protected from theft. I get a text every time I hook up to it and start moving.

I use this really simple lock on all of my trailers.
https://www.amazon.com/Reese-Towpowe...0H9S33AC3ZERT3
I had someone try and cut one off of one of my utility trailers with a hacksaw. They apparently must have grown tired of trying and gave up. If I think about it later, I'll take a picture of the damaged lock for you. It held up and that's all that matters.

Master Lock Universal
I have the Master Lock Universal, available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Echoing others, "If someone wants your rig, they are going to get it." But these might make someone looking for an easy target move on...

At my storage facility I'm one of the 50% that have locks installed. That's my best protection. One guy asked me why I bother to lock when they are so easy to defeat. I told him he was right, but it makes the wife happy.
My next defense is not having the best rig in the lot.

This is what I use as well - has done its job...but as already said
"if someone wants it bad enough they'll find a way to steal it"
