Upgrading OE rim question

I'm planning to replace my original 205/75/15 load range c tires and rims on my 2017 287SLX. I have read lots about upgrading the tire and rime so the psi rating match but I have not see it discussed about rim width. I will be keeping the same tire size but going to a load range D tire. My questions is, when changing the rim out would it make a difference to go with 15x6" rim or stay with the OE 15x5" size? The Goodyear tires are shown to fit both width rims.

Here’s the advice I got(and took). Since the weight of the trailer isn’t changing you don’t need stronger wheels. When you put the higher load rating tire on, change to 2-piece metal valve stems to hold the pressure. Mine rides and tows much better with the Goodyear endurance tires setup this way on the stock wheels.

My trailer came with the same size and load rating tire. I just kept my stock rims (Sendel T03 machined aluminum) and went to a load range D tire. The tires are rated to 65psi and I called Sendel to confirm what the rims were good to, and they told me 80psi. So I just run mine around 63psi and they work great. I think rubber valve stems are good to 65psi so that's why I stay a couple lbs under.

I should have also stated that my current rims are stamped for 1870 lbs. The best I can find is those rims may be rated for 60 psi at most. I'm sure that they would be fine but I'd like to change the rims to be sure they match the tires.

I may very well be wrong here but I thought Jayco trailers came with Sendel wheels/rims. If that is true you are good to go as Sendels website shows for the s62g steel wheel
15x5 sizes 1860lbs and 100psi, if they are 15x6 sizes then you have 2600lbs and 130psi

https://sendelwheel.com/wheels/s62g-0.html

Might be worth a call to Jayco to verify wheel make and model and save buying new wheels.

My Jayco came with rims and Goodyear tires. Surely Jayco knows what rims to put on the trailer as many as they sell every year. Curious, why do you need something better ?

That did make me laugh with the amount of upgrades discussed here each day.

Thank you. I was not aware of who made the rims. I will give them a call. I had figured they matched the tires rated at 50 psi to rims rated for a load at 50 psi also. I may still go with a set of USA made rims but it will be good to know that I can keep a spare on a factory one.

My J Flight 23RB came OEM with Tredit brand wheels, Model A1411, 15x5 Rim, Bolt Pattern 5-4.5, offset = 0, Load Range =2150#, Totaling 8600# for all 4 rims.

My tires were OEM GY Endurance, ST205/75R15 LRD, also equaling 2150# per tire, 8600# total for all 4 tires.
