Our Norcold refrigerator door fell off when the service manager was pulling it into a service bay. Plastic is NOT the answer to every design.

I had the same problem with my fridge. That was one of the few times that I used Amazon and they came through. The door arrived quicker than I thought and I was up and running soon after.
I hope your enjoying your trip.

If anyone would ever need doors, I have a used fridge door and used freezer door for a Norcold N821RT. The doors were replaced for free by Norcold so they are just taking up space in my basement. They are not broken or damaged. They do not have the wood inserts. Now that I don't have the N821RT unit, I have no need for the doors. You can have the doors for free, but I don't have the shipping boxes and don't want to mess around with trying to ship them, or try to figure out what it would cost to ship them. I'm located in Central PA and wouldn't have a problem meeting someone who needed them to pass them on.

We had this happen to our N611 on Saturday. I went to put the meat for the weekend in the refrigerator and the top door hinge broke. We had some Gorilla Super Glue on hand, so we unscrewed the screw, glued the plastic hinge back together, put the screw back in place and let it sit.

I was actually surprised how well it worked, even though it might turn out to be a temporary fix.

Well this sucked today, Broken hinge on Fridge.

I do not believe one exists. I cut the backside of the tabs off the available kit brackets and added one new mounting hole. (Made it a flat plate.) Then made nut plates to sandwich the plastic frame. The screws are 10-32 and one needed to be a flat head screw to clear the the “spacer” kit I also added on the lower fixed hinge. The latch now engages properly and the door is now supported better, not only on the hinge tab. So far so good.

Thanks!

Thank you for this thread. I ordered the kit so hopefully won’t be a problem.

Does the Dometic fridges need the hinge reinforcement as well? I don’t know if my hinge is plastic or metal.
