What do you use?
Is anyone towing with a Chevy Tahoe? If so, what if any types of problems are you having.

We use a Yukon which is basicly the same thing.. No problems at all. 150K miles on it as well. You're signature doesn't show what your are pulling so hard to help you out.. Also can you be more specific on what you mean by problems..

We use a Yukon, which again is the same thing basically.
Ours is a 2015 model and has factory air shocks in the rear and factory trailer brake controller on the dash, so it is set up well for towing. Also has a tow rating of 8300lbs, so not too bad in my eyes. The rear backup camera helps as well! We do you an equalizer hitch as well.
With our trailer (a 16' 28BHBE Elite) I am extremely impressed with how well the rig pulls it, stops it and handles it. It does better than I was originally anticipating.
That being said, we will be changing up to a 3/4 ton truck soon I think. I just feel our trailer deserves to be pulled by something larger. And the way my wife packs, I am sure we are quite a bit over tongue and trailer weight anyway and I dont like that.
If you have a smaller trailer, I say go for it. It will work just fine! We love our big SUV.

Sorry I missed a few details. My TV is a 2008 with 59000 miles. The tow rating is 73000 lbs. My trailer is a older 27' Jayfeather26s. I recently had my TV checked out and learned that one of the rear brake rotors was warped. When the mechanic asked what I had done to get the rotor so hot to cause it to warp, I could not bring myself to tell him that I pull a TT. I went in to the shop planning to spend $50.00 and left $1000.00 later. With that being said, I was just wondering if anyone else towing with a Tahoe had experienced other problems with there TV. Thanks

Without going to the scales, I can't tell you if your capacity and current weight setup is right or not.. (Several knowlegeable people here can). But I wonder if you have your electronic brakes set properly. It sounds like you are putting too much work on your TV brakes to stop your trailer.

I randomly looked at the specs for a 2005 Jay Feather LGT Floorplan 26 S. If you're towing something similar, and stay within its listed GVW and aren't overloading your TV with kids, gear, wives and mutts, you should do alright if your brake controller is properly adjusted. Of course, go to a CAT scale. There are lots of threads on how to best weigh your setup.
We've towed something similar with an '04 Expedition, which is a little larger but probably less engine power, and had no difficulty, although to be fair we didn't do it enough to be a real test.
You might consider a heavier TV when you retire the '08. It would make for a better tow experience, especially on a long haul. But with so few miles on your Tahoe, its retirement might be quite a ways off. Maybe you could get a much bigger trailer for DW and then she'd have to let you get a new pickup!

Is it possible your rear caliper froze due to corrosion? Did they do anything to the caliper or just replace the pads...Good luck

We had a 2006 Tahoe last year. It pulled okay, but I like our current truck better. Are your trailer brakes and brake controller working properly? Does the Tahoe sit a lot? Ours sat a lot with the previous owners and the calipers were all sticking - had to replace them all. The down side of finding a low mileage vehicle...

Used to pull my Trailer with a 2003 Yukon 5.3 with tow package. It pulled ok but at times it was looking for gears and uphill was never too much fun. I never felt 100% comfortable towing especially fully loaded. But it did do the job. I Broke done and upgraded to a RAM 2500 Diesel. Now towing is very relaxing and I hardly know there is a trailer behind me.

To cekkk; DW says that she likes the TT and doesn't want to change. There are plans working on upgrading the TT next season. The trailer is now put to bed for the year but I will have the brake controller checked at the beginning of next season if I don't purchase a new one. THANKS EVERYONE

DANG, 73,000 lbs. tow rating - that Tahoe can handle that trailer NO PROBLEM lol. And only 58k miles on an '08... that's NICE! Jeesh, my wife already has over 30K on her '15!
Make sure you have your brakes adjusted properly. There is kinda a fine line to ride there... too much grab and you can hurt the trailer brakes... not enough and you will can hurt the vehicle brakes.
