soft spots in the floor repair

hey everyone.

long time camper, first time trailer!

so i just bought a new to us 2012 sport 10 pop up. i have discovered 2 soft spots in the floor from water leaking in through the roof, as the seal was broken. The 2 spots are both up front, 1 under the bench of the seat and 1 inside the cupboard next to the door.

i have found and sealed the leak, peeled off the linoleum and dried out the floor, but the spots are still a little soft. one softer than the other.

my plan is to drill small holes 1/8 inch deep into the plywood and then cover and fill holes and strengthen the floor with epoxy.

has anyone here had similar ideas? anyone have any tips for patching other than replacing the floor?

thanks in advance

Maybe you could try a wood hardener. That might help.

It sounds like neither of those places are where you put your feet, or more importantly where the lift hardware is mounted in the corners. So your idea may work. Keep an eye on it as over time the wood might continue to rot and even spread a little.

epoxy is the way to go... i would use a bit of fabric to re-enforce it ... not sure I would drill holes and fill them... you need to be able to bind across the surface.. maybe if you drill enough holes or sand it down or plane it... 1/8"?
make sure you extend whatever you do over supports so the wood has something solid to work from...

If you go with epoxy I'd search out the penetrating epoxy designed for boats. I've seen folks use it on soft transoms with great success.
