I have the Yakima control towers, LP1 pads, 86" bars and SRS locks with two Yakima High Rollers:

Long bikes

Hi UpNorth,

We have two Xtracycle that we would like to have on a Yakima rack on our 2015 1207. I see that you have a tandem up there, is the rear wheel just sitting on the roof? I see the tie down on the rear crossbar but can tell how you did the rear wheel.

Can you explain?

We have twin 5 year olds and really want to bring our bikes with if I can figure out the rack situation.

I have a Hollywood SportRider 4 bike rack for my hitch, the front part of the bike rack is the extra length wheel tube so I can haul the tandem on the bike rack.

So I took the original wheel tube, plus one of the wheel holder assemblies and Yakima anchor plate "A" and made a rear wheel tandem holder.

I carry the Hollywood SportRider 4 bike rack (or just the 2 bike section) in the Yakima basket so we can haul the bikes/tandem to other locations when camping.
