Our first trip is coming up mid-May but will contribute a few pictures from a non-trailer trip we took about 3 weeks ago to Chena Hot Springs Resort which is about 60 miles east of Fairbanks, AK. There is an RV in the panorama shot just to keep it on topic...and the entrance to one of the campground loops is to the left of the RV The river shot is the Chena river running through Fairbanks behind Pikes Waterfront Lodge were we were at the first night.

Still a lot of snow and didn't clear the low 30's during the day but the sled dogs had to take breaks between runs in order to cool off. Optimum temp for them is about 20 below according to the musher giving the tour of the kennels. They are amazing animals. The tracked vehicle was our ride one night to view the northern lights from the top of a nearby mountain. It was single digits up there with a slight breeze that just cut through everything, but it was a spectacular show that unfortunately the picture just doesn't convey.

While we enjoyed this trip a lot I am definitely ready to get the camper rolling down the road.

Like much of the country winter refused to end this year until this week. But it's been a beautiful weekend at Lake Pomona, Osage County, Ks.

These are some pretty long days. I go in and watch my daughter's numbers, but come back out and watch a movie or sleep when she isn't up.
