I have a 2018 jay flight 26bh at about 5700 lbs. I just upgraded the tow vehicle to a 2017 Chevy 2500 with the 6.0 gas engine. I was disappointed on our first trip with 8 mpg. It was mostly flat with some hills. Our 2009 Chevy 1500 with 5.3l engine was getting about 10 mpg. The 2500 was a much better towing experience from an overall stability though.

If you want any chance of mpg towing, best route is a diesel, I get as good as 13mpg towing our 13k 5er, even had one trip where we had a nice tail wind and I got 15mpg

I get about the same as Atlee. I have calculated as much as 10.9 for one 250 mile run. Generally around 18-20 when not towing.

We tow our Skylark with a 2012 variable 6 cylinder engine. On the open roads when not towing the Pilot gets 23-24 mpg. When towing our Skylark we get 11-14 mpg depending upon the terrain. I tow between 55 and 60 mph as it gives more reaction time and is much more relaxing to drive at that speed. I never use the cruise when towing except on level stretches where I need to move my foot around to loosen up a bit. I used to tow faster, but the gas mileage was awful and we didn't get there any sooner because we had to stop for gas more often.

Just towed our 2015 26BH about 700KM today. My guess it was about 6500lb as I didn't drain the fresh water as much as I had planned to. Truck is a 2016 F-150 5.0 SuperCrew. I got 22.9 l/100km - so about 10.2 US mpg. Spent a lot of time hunting between 4th and 5th even though it was most prairie, but still lots of long ups and downs.

Sure glad it has a 36 gallon tank!

We just got back from a trip to the Smoky Mountains, averaged 14.5 MPG overall.

I'm very happy with this considering all the steep grades we had to pull going both directions. I think once the engine gets broke in we will be able to average 15 MPG easily, as long as we keep our lightweight TT.

Mine has the new Ford 10 speed - if I decide to pull a trailer I wonder if I'll end up better. So far I'm running 22.5 mpg or so on back roads w/ a little highway.

I've had a wide variety of RV's, fifthe wheel, travle trailer ,motor homes etc , in my lifetime. I've never seen double digits in mpg of any. But I also have always wanted to get there right now.

12.2 towing. 20 without. Honda Ridgeline with 195 RB
Fuel capacity is our bane. 250 mile range means we have to carry aux fuel can
While we've been able to mostly find fuel sometimes depots are out of power or require cash and at $6.00 a gal that's lots of cash. So far not found one out of fuel yet
Travelling from Maine to Alaska

quantum743, I have a 2015 with the same engine pulling a 2017 Eagle HT 27.5RKDS. I get between 7 - 9 mpg. The Chevy 6.0L engine is not known for good gas mileage but they are a tough engine that will last a very long time. When I'm not towing, about 15 mpg on the highway and about 12 mpg in town.

Our Tundra get around 10. something most of the time, unless there's a stiff headwind. We'll get a better long distance average in August when we go to Virginia and back.

I get 9-11 miles per gallon. Obviously it depends on terrain, etc.
