Jayco return to Manufacture

I have a 2014 Jayco Grewhawk 31FS and have a number of issues with my the door lock and now we found a water leak in the back wall, a bolt coming through the rug in the kitchen and the floor in the bathroom seems real soft. The warranty dealer said I had to have it returned to the manufacture, which is 1000 miles away. I have been talking to Jayco direct and while they are nice, they cannot take my RV until the end of April. Anyone have any experience with this type of return? Jayco said they would send someone to pick it up and return it after repair. Has anyone experience such issues and any advice on what to do? THANKS

Getting the work done at the service center is an "ideal" situation. The work they do is outstanding however getting it scheduled and in can take awhile. I know several.people who had their units taken back to the service center by a 3rd party. It is normally the same drivers that deliver the new vehicles.

I can tell you from personal experience, that the factory service center is where you will get, by far, the best service for your unit!

They are great folks, and they are FAST... They don't have to get authorizations, they have the right parts and tools right there, and they really know what they are doing.

It's a 10 hour trip for us, so what we did was make a vacation of it. We went up on a Sunday, and parked at the factory (they have water, electric, and a dump station). The next morning they got started on our unit, and helped us get a rental car, and we checked into a motel almost across the street from the factory.

Then... we played tourist! Spent the next four days seeing the RV Museum, the enormous flea market, hitting every Amish restaurant we could find, taking both of the Jayco factory tours, walking around "downtown" Middlebury, etc.

It was one of the best vacations ever... we didn't want to leave.

Jayco did everything on our list, and even found and repaired some thing that we have never noticed. And just because they had some extra time, they repainted the frame, steps and bumper... WOW, great folks.

If it does go up there, make a list of everything that you need done, and stand back!

Happy and safe camping!

I've been to the factory twice but it wasn't for my TT. If I were you I would do just as the Logan's have done with theirs. It will still be a vacation and you'll go home smiling.

Your soft spot in the bathroom what was the outcome. What was the cause of the soft spot? Where in the bathroom was it located.

I'm currently looking at buying a 2015 31fs and I noticed a soft spot in the bathroom. Just trying to figure out if it's a big deal to fix....
