I am happy to report that our TV antenna is now laying flat on the roof. We lubed it as suggested and straightened out a bent part keeping it from going all the way down. Must have happened from previous owner. Happy campers now and ready to leave for the ocean tomorrow. Thanks for all the tips and advice!

Glad you were able to fix it.

Mine lays completely flat as long as it is lined up properly and nothing has gotten in the way. Very easy for small limbs to fall out of trees and wind up in the tray where the antenna lays down.

I might add that my BATWING lays flat but the antenna end sits in a raised piece of metal that keeps the BATWING antenna from actually touching the trailer roof. This also keeps the somewhat flexible antenna wings from flapping in the wind when going down the road to keep from doing damage to the antenna ends as well as the trailer roof.

I was looking on GOOGLE IMAGES for a photo of the raised metal section piece but could not come up with one...
