We tossed the factory mattress, it was a joke. We got a queen size memory foam mattress from Ikea, and it is amazing. Certainly worth the investment.

Wow, my wife and I obviously need to replace our home mattress because we feel better after sleeping on the Denver Pillow top in our trailer than we do at home! Or maybe I drink too much when we go camping and could sleep on a rock! Yeah, that could be it.

I loathe the "mattress" that Jayco uses. It's just a four inch polyfill mattress, and it's not a lot different than just laying down directly on plywood. We have a three inch memory foam topper from Costco that helps a bit, but I'm going to buy a 6 or 8 inch foam mattress to try and solve the problem altogether. Biggest issue for us is headroom on the X213 is tight even with a four inch mattress. Doubling it could make for late night headaches.

We have plenty of headroom but I did notice that the trailer you have does seem short

Make sure you order the correct size. My old trailer required an RV 'short' queen (60x75"), but my 2016 Jay Flight uses a standard queen (60x80"). I believe Jayco uses both sizes depending on the model trailer you have.
Our 2017 jay flight has a short queen
Thank you

We will get a topper (cheap foam) for this year and save and for Christmas buy a really nice mattress.

I full time so a band aid wasn't my solution. A Sleep Number was. Much better and lighter also.

Yes, the X213 has a short king, 75x75 or so, and no tolerance for anything longer. I was going to pick up a custom 8" foam mattress from foambymail and put our 3 inch topper on that. If that doesn't fix it, I'll just deal.

On our short queen bed, I bought a 3" foam from Costco and cut it myself. I used meat scissors because that's what I had handy at the time.

We too have a problem with our Jayco mattress. "Denver" my xxx. One tag says Denver mattress but the tag attached to the seam reads some other company. Anyway, within months we were sagging in the middle. This is what I have on order. Should arrive any day now. Anything is an improvement! Good luck!

We are looking at the 3" Novaform from Costco. On sale this month. We have the X254 with king rear slide which I think you have too. Topper measures 80 X 76. Our mattress measures 76 X 74.
Did you trim it? Did you end up buying something better yet?

We have a local mattress company that supplies Winnebago with all their beds. The guy told me the one they spec stock is pretty horrible but offer a 900 dollar upgrade. He sold me the same mattress Winnebago will do as an upgrade for 399 in short queen for our camper. I have to say it's about 100 times more comfortable than the Denver thing that came with it (which really was just a piece of foam with no support).

We trimmed the topper length with kitchen shears, didn't worry about the width, it's close enough that it just squeezes in. Haven't bought a whole new mattress because I was out of the country for a few weeks. Definitely getting something before next camping season.
