How Check Propane Level?

New Hummingbird owner, new propane user... how do I know how much is left in the 20# propane tank between outings?

The easiest way is to pour fairly hot water down the side of the tank, while the propane is being used. Where the condensation/frost appears, that'll be how full it is. Other than that, there are gauges and the such that you can connect to the valve, and will have a green/yellow/red band, and where the pointer is, that's where you're at. A tank scale will tell how much the tank and gas weigh, but the tank has to be off the camper. I'm sure I've missed a few.

There is the gauge that's basically a sticker on the side of the tank. Shows you where the level is.
There is also a remote gauge that works on sonar(I think), and you wore it back and replace your control panel.

Welcome.
Do the right thing and buy a level gauge that screws into your propane tank, You can get a decent one from the RV stores for about $20 I bought mine at Camping world and they just happened to have a sale where you buy one and get the 2nd for half price. Better than making a mess with water etc.

This one is a bit pricey but it works as advertised... You can find it cheaper then Camping World.

I have an auto changeover regulator. When the indicator is changes from green to red indicating the in use tank is empty, I just switch over to the other tank with the lever and refill the empty one.

Works great if you have two tanks.

I've tried a couple, prefer the hot water method.
