The problem is separating opinion from fact. Many times opinions are based on what someone has heard from someone else. In the case of electrical issues when opinions are in conflict with facts it can become dangerous. Or, just as often, result in unwarranted paranoia.
It is sometimes difficult for someone with a solid understanding of a system to post factual information on a thread that already has a lot of bad information posted.
Long time members have probably figured out who the truly knowledgeable members are in the various RV systems. But that is not much help to the newbie.
As RVhiker says in his signature "There's lots of advice and information in forums... sometimes it is correct." is very true.
