Camping on labor Day weekend

Anyone camping this weekend? We are in Hurricane mode and are home.

Nope. Fighting the crowds and the traffic takes the fun out of it. We still have another month of nice weather in the Rockies and after this weekend crowds diminish significantly so I always stay home over Labor Day and then hit another weekend or two later in September or early October.

I do the same. I don't even try to get a campsite over a major holiday. We have places around here that are booked up more than a year in advance for Halloween! Here in South Miss, we can go just about any time if the year weather wise.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

We always skip the major holidays as well as avoiding crowds is worth it to us. We'll be headed out for southern Utah after the Labor Day rush has died down.

Same. We normally staycate on holidays. The local attractions usually have low turnout, so that’s when we hit them.

When we do camp on holidays, it’s dispersed on public lands.

Wife has to work a summer holiday (nurse), so we aren't camping this weekend. Thankfully our kids are home schooled, so we can go any time in September, October and November and still enjoy the season without the holiday rates and crowds!

Stay safe down there norty. Keep the roof on Charleston, we'll be there in 5 months...

We usually stay home on Labor Day. Now Dorian may facilitate a couple nights inland.

Hope not!

We always avoid the craziness and crowds over the holidays. Sometimes we just driveway camp during that time because we store it at our house. We’ll be taking a 10 day camping vacation after the Labor Day weekend when the crowds have disappeared.

We consider ourselves professional campers and try to avoid the amateur weekends.
