Carolina Pines RV Resort, Conway SC

We will be heading home today after a week at this resort, and it is a resort and not a campground, lol. If you haven't stayed here before, it is huge, bigger than any other place we have been to by a mile, and a new section is opening up next month. It is first class; all sites are large and well laid out. This is a family resort, with multiple pools, arcade, 2 restaurants I think, put-put golf, water park that opens this weekend, and more. Traffic is heavy, lol, as in golf carts, bicycles, and a myriad of electric contraptions that you stand on, sit on, that I never seen before. Myrtle Beach is a few minutes away. It is fairly new, so trees are small and no shade to be found. It is pricy, but what isn't these days.

Sounds like an active campground with lots to do, especially for the kids. With 9 grandkids we see with some frequency (4 across the street) we like the quieter ones as kind of a get away.

There is a large campground we have used for years that in the past few years has had an explosion of golf carts. They allow folks to bring their own or they have plenty for rent. There is evidently no age limit on who can operate one as I've seen young kids going by with the hammer down. Every evening there is a gathering of the carts for a parade around the campground with the related noise. Maybe I'm the one with the problem but I don't like it. I come to relax and walk some of the available trails, not dodge golf carts. I'm not sure we will be going back.

And not too far away is Willow Tree RV Resort. Nice campground that has 2 private maintained lakes. There water attractions in the lake are also going up this week.

Have been there - agree on quality of facilities. the water park area for the kids is very popular with my little one.

As a destination for kids and things to do - very good overall. A bit farther from the beach than ideal, but still relatively convenient.

If you are looking for a CG that is super quiet for a campfire, etc. - this is not the place for that sort of camping.

We would def go back for a kids beach trip.

We enjoyed it but I think atlantaM3 hit the nail on the head. We will probably go back though at some point as we have friends in the area

I’ve been to Willow Tree; to me its just as nice as Fort Wilderness. Only downside is its a long drive to get to the beaches; however the campsite itself is A+.

Carolina Pines was just being built the last time I was down that way. I recall it being very nice, though not as picturesque as Willow Tree. CP is also closer to the beaches.

They advertise their own beach access as well as transportation although, and in their words, due to unforeseen circumstances the beach is closed this year. We bought new Ebikes for Christmas and CP offers lots of real estate to ride in. Another new section is opening up in May, with lots of pull through sites.

We are staying there for 2 weeks in July. It's hard to find anyone that has anything negative to say about the place. My kids panicked and sent me this Pic from their website thinking the campground was closed! They are a bit disappointed that their private beach is closed but me eh, not so much, looking forward to a great 2 weeks...

We are at CP as we speak. This is a world class rv resort. We are staying in the new section in our motorhome. It is Sunday evening as I write. As said earlier, this place is huge. Everything is very well done. The sites are spacious, level, landscaped and well planned.
When we arrived yesterday the place was hopping. The pools were very busy, the resort was full of families.
We were surprised at how quiet it was . The new section is the furthest from the central activities.
Yes, we will come back!
