Fredericksburg area has lots to do.

If you like wine, there are vineyard tours and wine tasting.
There are also peach and lavender farms.

Fredericksburg itseld has the Admiral Nimitz Museum. We also enjoyed their pioneer museum.
Main Street is a pleasant stroll with lots of restaurant and shops.

Enchanted Rock isn't far from Fredericksburg.

The Lyndon B. Johnson state & national park is there, which includes a tour of the downstairs of their home and a tour of the house he was born in and the one room school house he attended.

Pedernales Falls State Park is there.

If you plan to spend a decent amount of time in any of the state parks, a parks pass will cost you $70 and gets you into all of the Texas state parks free. Everyone in your vehicle is free with one parks pass. We determined that it we would break even at the seven day mark for myself and my husband. (You also get a few camping discounts if you camp there with the state parks pass.)

Enjoy Fredericksburg.

I can't edit on my phone, but the LBJ park and the state parks aren't actually in Fredericksburg, but nearby.

Things to do in Fredricksburg

#1 See the Pacific War Museum. The tickets are good for 2 days and I recommend you see half of it one day and then go back for the other half. It is worth the time and too much to see all at once. It is Smithsonian quality. I was amazed that such a small town could have such a fantastic museum.
National Museum of the Pacific War

#2 Enchanted Rock, go early and hike to the top and then you can hike around if you want more.

#3 Luckenbach for beer and music.
Home

#4 Wineries and Breweries. The list is long.

#5 Old German Bakery and Restaurant
I love the breakfast.
Old German Bakery and Restaurant German Food Fredericksburg

#6 Lot of good local Texas musicians play the area. Check the web sites for the local bars.

We stay at the Fredericksburg RV park and really like it.

TEXAS HILL COUNTRY of Fredericksburg, TEXAS is known for its wild flowers and Ladybird Johnson. The countryside if filled with Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush, Mexican Hat and many other wild flowers, running over, around and through the limestone cliffs, granite outcrops and hidden springs. These wildflowers grow all over even up in Northern Texas along the Red River...

No one has mentioned the spectacular Wild Seed Farms wildflower displays just east of town. Perfect time for some spectacular color: https://www.wildseedfarms.com/

We stayed in Fredericksburg for a week last fall. We did all of the things mentioned above - the museums were very good. We also took a day and drove to San Antonio to see the River Walk and Alamo. It's only about 40 miles and worth the drive.

If you have some extra time, the town of Kerrville is about 35 min. southwest of Fredericksburg. They have a marvelous western art museum, and the only Gibson's discount store left.

In addition, just past the western edge of Kerrville is the little town of Ingram. You can visit "Stone Henge II" - its like 60 percent of the height and 90 percent of the diameter of the original in England. It's owned by the Hill Country Art Council, and they have a great restaurant right on site. Worth the day trip!

FBG resident here. Lady Bird park is great. Try to get a site on the loop so you can watch the planes. Went to Wildseed Farms w/ friends last Friday - in full bloom. Wildflowers are in bloom everywhere right now. Cabernet Grill is a great food and wine eatery, albeit a bit pricey. Reservations are needed like a week ahead of time. We're going this Sat. for our anniversary. Sunset Grill is a great breakfast/lunch eatery. Fredericksburg Brewery on Main St. has great beer and good food. Enjoy.
