Camping near Hot Springs AR

My wife and I are planning a trip to Hot Springs, AR in April and we are looking for campground recommendations in the vicinity. We are new owners and this will be are first long (distance) trip – about 7 hours form our home in Louisiana.
Thanks in advance!
JP

Hot Springs NP (Gulpha Gorge Campground) is our favorite location - hard to beat for both the price and the scenery. Only down side is it is a first-come, first serve park, no reservations. We've always had good luck getting a spot if we arrive around noon, but the park does fill up virtually every night.

I also agree Lake Ouachita State Park is great, just be aware there is little if any cell service there.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. It looks like we have a lot of good choices around Hot Springs. I made a reservation at Lake Catherine. Looking forward to the trip.

We live in South Arkansas

Life time Arkansas native here. We camp Degray State Park however it has been under water for the past month soon to reopen. Lake Ouachita has lots of camping all nice, the state park has full hookups. if your looking for a RV park close to Hot Springs Catherine's landing is the No.1 for RVs. Cloud Nine is a nice place a little hard to get in but not all that bad. The Gorge is a beautiful small National Park campground right on the edge of Hot Springs in the mountains very easy city access. Good Luck and enjoy!!!

We have stayed at Catherine's Landing RV resort a few times. Beautiful place and has disc golf, zip lining, pool etc..fairly new campground about 5 years old now. We always get a back in spot on the river.
