Grandfather Mountain Campground
We just returned from this place and it is WONDERFUL!! It quickly became one of our favorite places to go. It's on the west side of Boone NC off of HWy 105. It is hard to find at night b/c the sign is not right next to the road and it's dark out that way. Most of the sites we saw had wooden porches for your camper w/ a picnic table on it and fire pit behind. Beautiful view of the mts. There are also lots of tent sites that have lots of shade. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Boone area.
