A reputation 50 years in the making

The Jayco story begins in a place where fireflies are as plentiful as open fields. It's here, in 1968, where Jayco founder Lloyd Bontrager created an innovative, easy-to-use lifter system that led to a better fold-down camper. Loaded with more conveniences, he believed his camper would bring families closer together.

With the encouragement from his wife, Bertha, Lloyd started Jayco on their farm — in the barn and in two chicken houses. By the end of 1968, his fledgling company of 15 employees sold 132 camping trailers. Since then, Jayco has grown to include employees, suppliers, dealers and RV owners, helping shape everything from family livelihoods to family journeys.

For nearly 50 years, we've helped generation after generation create family memories — good, old-fashioned family fun built around campfires with a Jayco RV nearby. Today, we're the largest family-owned RV manufacturer in the world, and our promise is to continually strive to build family-friendly products.

Very true, "except" his lifter system was first used at STARCRAFT where he was an engineer, but he was allowed to hold the patent.

Ah the days when big government stayed out of the way and allowed small businesses to grow!

They do, but it's a seperate operating division, just like AIRSTREAM, or just like ABC is a division of DISNEY, or KING SUPER & HARRIS TEETER are a division of KROGER.

But it still stands that Jayco is no longer privately owned by the Bontrager family. Jayco is owned by a RV corporate giant.

That may be what you said, but the OP’s statement said “today, we're the largest family-owned RV manufacturer in the world“. So, I’m confused, along with why this commercial was a post in the first place...?
