Yeah, ATT WAY over paid for DirecTV to start with and have done nothing to "improve" the service or "brand" since taking over. In fact, they have done pretty much all they could do destroy it on their own.

So according to the article ATT now wants to hide behind the HBO brand name with their new OTT solution? That's just too funny!!! LOL!!!

No matter what "name" or "brand" they hide behind, the reality is that ATT will find a way to screw it up.

I'm confused. Cingular wireless bought the ATT brand, so today's ATT Wireless is just the same lousy provider it was under the Cingular brand, no?

And is the ATT that purchased Direct one and the same?

Actually it's the other way around. AT&T bought BellSouth which owned Cingular. A few years later they renamed Cingular to AT&T Mobility.

That said, you are referring to cell service. The discussion thread is around AT&T's ownership of DirecTV satellite TV service. Different divisions of the same company.
