Does the new Ford V-8 get better gas mileage?

I’m just curious, anybody have any experience with identical vehicles having the new Ford V-8 compared to the old V 10? I don’t see any claims in Ford’s or Jayco‘s literature of increased efficiency. I’m very disappointed to see Ford did not use direct injection in the new engine although they say it could be updated later. Direct injection increases fuel efficiency by about 15%. Almost all cars made within the last 10 years have it. Like they taught us at officer training school. There’s never enough time to do it right the first time. But there’s always enough time to do it again.

If you're talking about the 7.3 L as compared to the old V10, it is definitely better by a couple mpg when towing and we have a larger trailer now.
