Doug, Keeping it Between The Lines - Oklahoma

Well,
We had a safe trip from Memphis to Checotah, Ok. A Tornado watch is effect, but storms in the area falling apart.
Didn't get here until about 8pm, so set-up and a late dinner.
Hot water tank won't fire up, not sure why. Pilot lights, but no main burner.
I'll work on it tomorrow.
We're here a couple days, so we'll see what's in the area. We're very close to a big lake.

A shame about the Boston bombing. Unbelievable. Thoughts and prayers to the folks affected.

Kind regards,
Doug

Good luck with the hot water tank, hopefully nothing difficult.

Agree about Boston - is amazing how evil some people can be....

Wish i had the chance to divert your path slightly from Memphis going west. WOuld have suggested going down towards Texarkana and eat a big WHATABURGER meal and continue along the Red River on into Wichita Falls TX area then head up to to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge at Medicine Park OK near Lawton (I44) for a couple of days at Camp Doris inside the refuge. You will see I 44 at Oklahoma City going thru there... Don't remember if you have kids or not but you can get up close and personal with the Buffalo there.

If you want a real hambuger you need to try out the WHATABURGER... When we go WEST it is Texarkana where we run into our first place to get them hehe...

Then you could have eased on back up I40 again at Amarillo.

Well,
Oklahoma didn't last long. Severe weather forecast for tomorrow, so we pulled up stakes and drove to Amarillo, Tx. A little windy here, but safe for a couple days. Not much here. Only resting tomorrow and then onto Abequrque, NM. Just glad to be out of Tornado Alley.

Roy, sounds like a nice area, but not this time of the year :-)

I did get my water heater fired up today. I noticed the temp arm was way over to "cooler", so I put it over to "hotter" and it fired right up.
That lever seems to move easy, so maybe the wind or vibration moved it. All good.

Best regards,
Doug

I was just going to tell you to keep an eye to the sky in OK. You're in tornado season!

If you stayed in Checotah you were just down the road from Lake Eufaula. This lake is the largest in Oklahoma with over 600 miles of shoreline. You were just a few miles from Lake Eufaula State Park. We stayed there just last year.
