Eastbound in Michigan

We will be towing from Muskegon back to Ohio. Which road is less rough, I96 or I94?
Thanks
Bill

IMO 94 and 96 are about equal. 69 from Lansing to Marshall should be avoided at all costs.

Personally I would avoid traffic around Detroit, Ann Arbor depending on travel times. This would be the 275, 696, 23, 14 highways.

I don't know where in Ohio you are headed, but 96 to 131 to 80 east is all nice, 80 east has tolls. From there you can hit 75 south or stay going east.

131 has two construction zones that I know of, one just south of Grand Rapids and one in Three Rivers. GR will take more time than Three Rivers.

64osby,
Thanks for your reply. We were on I80/Indiana TP for about 40 miles last year and thought
it was really rough. Unless it has been re-surfaced we probably will follow I96 and 23 route. Should hit Ann Arbor late morning.
Bill

Muskegon--that's where I live!

I'd take 96. Can't comment on surface quality, but 94 has far more trucks, and has a deserved reputation for death. If you like being alive.....

Ok, just to wrap this up: I96 was pretty good until we got near Ann Arbor, US23 was quite rough until we got back into Ohio.
