Entrance Door Lock Failure

Stopped overnight last night and locked both locks on the door when we went for a walk. Couldn’t unlock the deadbolt and ended up drilling out the lock.

Last night was the first night of a week long trip.

Any ideas why it failed?

No,not yet. Haven’t had a chance to take the door latch apart. Something came loose in the mechanism. I could feel the lack of resistance when I turned the key when it failed.

Multiple door lock failures were discussed over on the Thor Forum. If I remember correctly they were mostly on the Axis/Vegas motorhomes. I think there is a rod or pin inside the lock that was breaking. This has been going on for a couple of years.
