Hmmm I agree it all depends on your ability to perform repairs or do some add ons, mods to your coach. Nowadays W/ all the DIY'S AVAILABLE ON YouTube the sky is the limit if you have incentive, motivation to grasp a challenge but just don't take on a location repair or task that if you can't finish & there is not an available option for you to finish to keep your coach road worthy then be realistic & listen to your WIFE!! hahaha. Myself I am have an auto mechanic, electrician, carpenter background so I can Never take enough tools & accessories to start & finish a repair, add on, or mod. So just be realistic Re: your abilities & confidence. Type in on YouTube essentials needed for an RV road trip & many videos will lead you according to your abilities.

I never used to think that a multimeter was a necessity in your rig. I figured that I would just work on it when I got home, where the multimeter is.

Recently, I needed a multimeter with a battery issue, and didn't have one, and no one that I was camping with did either.

Needless to say, I now have one in the tool drawer. Never used it in our unit, but had to let the son-in-law borrow it recently.

Totally Roger that. Crazy isn't it. I always forget something at home I really needed & sometimes if I can't borrow it from some fellow RVer then to hardware store I go

The vertical pex pipes that go up to my bathroom sink were too long. The T fitting was below the frame, below the underbelly. That would have been the first thing to freeze in cold weather. I bought some pex tools and shortened the tubes by about 4 inches so everything is up in the frame and covered by the coraplast. I don’t have any pex plumbing in my house so I keep the pex tools in my camper, along with some spare fittings and rings. I realized I didn’t have any way to cut off a steel ring, so now I also carry a small hacksaw.
