Extended service “warranty”

Good morning..... new to this group so thanks for the add. We just purchased a Jayco 2015 Precept 35ul. Looking for recommendations for a reputable “solid” extended service company to cover chassis and coach for a few years. Just in case.

You are better off self insuring. You pay you the interest you save paying them. They are not in business to break even.

Everybody has their own expert opinion on the value of extended service plans.

Ask yourself this question, can you afford to pay 3 to 5 thousand dollars "out of pocket" for a major system repair while you are on the road? Answer that question and then decide if an extended service plan is right for you.

The most important aspect is to look very carefully at what is excluded and not at what is included. Also look at the dealers that accept the plan and whether or not it covers your rig nationwide or only at your servicing dealer. Also look at the authorization process for repairs especially while traveling.

Also, very important, look at the cancellation provisions and how refunds are. determined when and/or if the policy is cancelled due to RV sale, trade-in or your dissatisfaction with the plan.

There, you have my advice and opinion and no, I will not tell you whether or not I purchased any extended service plans because our situation is not your situation.

I am also not a fan of extended warranties on any rv except a motorized one.

In your position, I would do the research and consider it on one 4-5 years old if it proved to be a reputable and affordable offer. As stated the details are what may be the deciding factor. What is not covered rather than what is covered and also the good advice already given, how to get out of it if it's not satisfactory.

Take a look at USA Travel Care. Very reasonable and they get outstanding reviews which is unusual for an extended warranty provider.

You might to do some searching for extended warranties for pricing. I am thinking that a 2015 unit either is going to demand a very high premium or not be illegible at all.
