External gas grill giving me a headache

Hello friends,
I'm very pleased with my purchase of a Jayfeather last summer. Everything seems to be going swimmingly with one exception....I cannot get the external gas grill to work. I've spoken with the previous owner--who never used it so not helpful.
As a result of the previous owner not using the external grill there was no hose for the external grill so I assembled one getting quick fit couplers from local hardware stores.
So both ends connect and fit i.e. to the exterior gas outlet and then to the grill ...but no gas is getting to the grill.
What am I missing?
thanks!

I assume your turning it on. Also there shouldnt be a regulator on the grill.

X2
The fitting on the trailer side probably has a 1/4 turn handle to turn the gas on

Look for a possible shut off further upstream of the quick Connect fitting...

will do, thank you for that advice.
quick question...on my female couple that connects to the grill; is that pretty standard or is it a proprietary coupler....as it seems like it is lacking a a piece of brass that when connect triggers the release of gas....
appreciate the help.

My grill has the same shape nipple as the hose that plugs into the trailer quick connect. To determine if it is the grill or the supply. You can turn the gas lever on and push in on the center of the quick connect at the trailer to see if you have propane there.

By chance does your grill have a pressure regulator on the grill? If so, that will be your issue.
