Fridge/Freezer

From NZ. We purchased a second hand Jayco caravan. It was originally custom made in Australia in 1998 specifically for off road use. Anyway, it has an Electrolux Finch 3-way fridge with small freezer. The fridge door is integrated to an exterior panel with the same joinery as the rest of the caravan kitchen. On the outside of the door is RM2510. Perhaps this is the model. I think the seals need replacing however it appears that the seal is part of the exterior joinery door, i.e. the seal does not go around a perimeter track like more modern fridges. May need to replace whole door. A local general domestic appliance repairer has been unable to help. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Check the web site below. They claim to be able to make new gaskets from drawing or sample. Perhaps you can figure out a way to remove the old gasket and save door and attach a new one.
Al Rawan - Refrigerator / Freezer Door Gasket

Friidge/Freezer

Thank you for this possible solution. Jordan a long way from home though. Great to know this option is available.

Welcome to JOF!

BTW! The fact that the fridge is still working is somewhat a miracle after all these years. If the gasket is not repairable, maybe a suitable replacement would be another possibility?

I am interested in camping experiences in NZ. Don't be to shy about posting some of yours!
Good luck getting it resolved.
