Goodyear RV Tires

Goodyear launches American-made 'Endurance' trailer tire | Blog: Great Lakes Camper | voicenews.com

I was not aware of this, read it on another forum. Good news as I see it.

Those tires have been mentioned on this forum a few times. That's how I learned about them... and ordered them for my TT!

Tomorrow morning (3/1) Discount Tire is installing 4 of them on my TT. I went up in quality (hopefully) from the Rainier's and up from load range D to E. I stopped in to look at them today, and boy are they 'fresh'; the date code says Jan of 17!

Total w/tax $612* for 4 (~$20 less per tire than the Maxxis M8008).
Presidents' Day Sale. So...
$100 off ($100 Debit Card for Selected Sets of 4 Tires) and $60 off ($60 Debit Card for using Discount Tire Credit Card On Set of 4 Tires).

* I did buy the road hazard for these tires, but don't believe it is included in that price.

I will let the JOF know how they work out. Just having a higher speed rating (although I usually drive 62-65) and load range will make me feel much better.

I know on the White Hawk line they are a "mandatory" option. Here they are on the WH that we ordered that just arrived last week. Aside from the mud, it is a great looking tire. Hope they perform well...

Pricing seems to be in line, hopefully they will turn out to be the "go to" tire. OldmanAz your replacing your tires after two years ? Must of put a lot miles on them ! We tend to stay put once we get to our destination, but, most likely next year will see new tires for us also.

Thanks for the Information. Looking forward to hearing your experience with them.

The OEM Rainier tires had about 10,000mi and looked ok. But, we have a 4,000mi trip planned in a few weeks and a 4,000+mi for this fall and not sure about this summer. In 2018 we think maybe 2 (3?) ~4,000mi trips.

I have more confidence in the Goodyears and load range E tires. Now that they are on the trailer, I can forget about worrying about the Rainier tires and move on to other worries.

For the 225/75R15 size we need they only offer them in E-rated and our TT only needs D-rated tires at worse case (3,750 lb. GVWR)......so no buyers remorse with my new Maxxis M8008's "yet"

Hopefully they'll wait a few years to come out with a D-rated so I don't get tempted into changing tires again.

Just researched the GY Endurance for our seismic, already started replacing OEM Westlake's (China Bombs) with Sailuns.
going ahead and using Sailuns, price about the same. Sailuns are 14 ply, 58#/tire and 4000# @110 psi. GY are 10 ply, 40# tire, and 3420# @ 80psi. Goodyear just doesn't measure up to the Sailuns.

these are 235/80R-16 tires

I've never heard of Sailun. Where are these made?
Sounds like the Sailuns are a load range G tire vs the Goodyear being a E? I don't think any E tire would measure up to the Sailun.

Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TBC_Corporation is some info on the parent company, TBC that owns Sailun. They are also owners of Pep Boys , NTB tires, Speedee Oil change and many other tire and auto service companies.

I have heard the s637 tires are made in Canada but can't verify that.

Made in China, they have become legend in the heavy F/W and hotshot arena.

Goodyear Endurance Tires

Earlier I replaced my OEM blowmax tires, 3 years old with about 1200 miles on them with Goodyear Endurance LR D. Wow! What a difference towing. Less bounce and seems to roll easier. We'll see how they hold up long term. They gotta be better then the OEM blowmax at LR C.

Price & size on Endurance?

If I may ask, what size and price on your tires?

My 22FB takes 205/75/15's, and I got prices for set of 4:
- Endurance D - $550.
- Maxxis D - $515.

Just wondering how my prices line up with others out there. Which brand would be most recommended?

Thanks.

Of the two, the Maxxis are the only tire with a track record and that seems to be reasonably good. The Goodyear tires are too new to know how they will perform. We can hope they turn out to be excellent trailer tires but it will take time to find out.

If it were me I'd go with the Maxxis.

Mine are 205/75r15 ordered from Discount Tire. They had a special $50 off order online and a $70 rebate. So I paid $390 for 4. Some time I'll replace the spare.
I had a set of Maxxis on an Airstream I had, they were great better than the GY Marathons that were on it OEM. Maxxix are a very good tire made in Thailand not china. So I thought I'd give these American tires a try maybe worth the risk. I have to say the side wall looked very tough on these GY.

silverark - Thanks for info on your GY's. How does getting them mounted & balanced work when your order on line? Was $390 you total net cost for the 4?

Where are you in Missouri? I used to live in Branson & Lockwood in the 70's. Miss the Ozarks. Now live in flat eastern NC, but 2 hours from our sailboat at the coast...

[QUOTE=Gypsea;514688]silverark - Thanks for info on your GY's. How does getting them mounted & balanced work when your order on line? Was $390 you total net cost for the 4?

I bought 5 at $85 ea. (after rebates) at discount tire direct.com. I had them delivered to my house and then mounted and installed for $9 per tire, with metal valve stems, at my local Mavis tire center (most folks don't balance trailer tires, BTW - it isn't necessary and the comparatively harsh ride often shakes free the balancing weights).

I plan to sell the 5 Rainiers I took off the trailer, they're only a year old, look great, were carefully stored in winter and have about 1,700 miles on them (the spare has 0 miles and it's already mounted, selling the rim with it). Even if only average $15-$20 per tire, that will reduce the cost of my Goodyears down to about $65-$70 ea. Here are links to two threads, both with pics: one on the buying experience, the other on the installation.

Purchase: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...res-44931.html

Install: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...nce-45632.html
