Griddle

In Texas, where we live, campers have about lost their minds over those Blackstone griddles.
We felt they were a little bulky for us, and we didn't want to waste propane when we have always camped with shore power.
Inlaws bought us this Presto electric griddle for Christmas, and we love it. We plan to get a second one. They are slim and they plug into the outlets. Perfect for our 26bh.

I just use a large griddle that fits over my propane stove. Have feed several groups with it and it easily stores in my cabinets. Set up time is minimul.

We also use an electric griddle (Oster Titanium Dura-ceramic) and just love it. Cooks all foods well without using up our propane.

Nice alternative to the Blackstone .... as long as you are not boondocking :-)

I have a Black and Decker Electric Griddle and it works great for pancakes and bacon.

Can't get enough gizmos. I guess we will have to make some choices if we ever downsize.

Thats why I consider ditching my old BBQ for the the blackstone or an electric griddle. Tired of the flame up, and frankly I never really found that a propane BBQ add a lots of flavor compared to a conventional BBQ. So ... Blackstone or electric ?? Still debating ...

Just bought a new one, you probably never heard of the brand which is Zojirushi. Bought it because we have their top of the line breadmaker and it is without a doubt the best we have owned. Because of it's impressive performance we decided to go with their griddle. It also performs well and the plate is thick. It also comes apart for easy cleaning. Link:

Still looking into griddles and such. My Jay Flight is going on some property that I own and I'll have a 250 gallon propane tank there so will probably go with propane.

We have just reached the point where we are trying to get rid of gizmos...
Not because we don't want them, but to make room for the new gizmos we're getting :-)

x2 on the electric skillet, though.. We use one inside and out,

I pretty much just use the blackstone, Dutch oven and a grill on my tripod now. I have been in Scouts my whole life and enjoy cooking over an open fire. For instances where an open fire is not permitted I have a small electric griddle tucked away.

If we didn't use the furnace occasionally, I would only use a tank of propane a year. Our Blackstone 17" griddle takes 1/2 the space of our small grill and is 10 times easier to clean. Electric griddles should be as good if you always have 110v power, but we boondock occasionally. My grille now sits forlornly in the garage.

I use a 17 inch Blackstone griddle for almost everything now. It is very versatile. I seasoned it as directed and I also did a check with a laser thermometer to see how hot it got and where the hot spots were. It gets to over 600 degrees in the hottest couple of spots, which makes for very good steaks. But it goes low enough to make pancakes also.

The grill never got that hot but I still use it for corn on the cob and fish. I also use those little butane camp stoves. I don't use the electric very much. I only have 30 amps and it likes to pop the breaker on that circuit often enough to be annoying. Will be getting a griddle for my home setup too, just a bigger one!

Update: We bought a second griddle, but the circuit couldn’t handle two. One is now going to live with a relative.
But we still like the one a lot.

At the end of last grilling season, Target had the 17” blackstones on clearance for ~$28. Picked up two of them at that price for when I didn’t want to bring the three burner camp chef and griddle sheet.

Use the following link to check target inventory by zip code. It should already have the 17” blackstone target sku.

The 17” black stone is too bulky and heavy IMO. I had bought it and sold it. Even did the quick connect conversion on it. If anyone needs it PM me and I will ship it for cost of parts and shipping.
We use a $20 Electric griddle outdoors and a flat griddle pan that goes on stove for cooler or wet days. I also bought the flat cast iron griddle grates for our Weber propane grill but haven’t used it yet.

I had a Grill-to-Go and when the burner quite working I put it in the trash and spent 50 bucks at Walmart for table top charcoal barrel grill. I kept the folding stand for the Grill-to-Go and I made a table top the will lock into stand. I've been using that now for about 3 years. Can't beat the flavor of charcoal! I can put wood chips or blocks in it for smoking too! The whole thing folds up and stores in my front storage compartment and I put the grill in the bed of the truck.

I looked at a blackstone and the only one I would consider would be the table top version for cooking breakfast outside. The larger ones I would have to transport in the bed of my truck even with the folding legs.
