NEVER BELIEVE A SALESPERSON! Do research on every rv forum that you can or 'Google' can help direct you to sites with info to your buying situation!!!
-A salesperson will definitely tell you what your tv (tow vehicle) can tow and it’s
probably not accurate!!!! (been there done that – but because of online rv forums, we still didn’t fall prey!).
-always check with your tow vehicle manufacturer if not sure!

*However*, ALWAYS RECONNOITER WITH A SALESPERSON regarding what is out there that does work with your current tow vehicle (because you have already researched the tow restrictions and vehicle limits of your tow vehicle; you may find you will have to upgrade and purchase a new tv!). Armed with this info, find the model that you really like (however absolutely do not sign a contract *yet*), and then….

RESEARCH ONLINE all opportunities for EMAIL quote’s of the Jayco you have decided on (even if they are out-of-state).
-Ebay On-line Dealers... search (year model) + Jayco (more specific to mh/tt/5er)
-Online/Internet Dealers (RvDirect; RvExpress; RvFactoryDirect, etc)
- Costco (you have to be a member)
- AAA (You have to be a member)
You will probably find a couple of online dealers who will not only offer you a quote for less $$ but will go to the moon to find answers for your questions in eager anticipation for a sale (I called several of these dealers and learned just about everything to know about the Jay Flight we now own!).

SAVE THOUSANDS w/THIS FORMULA (in other words you aren’t paying someone else’s car payment for the month… yeah, I know that sounds cruel for the working salesperson! Some of us don’t have that extra collateral though!). 28-30% is the magic number.Formula for how to figure the above percentage……
-take the MSRP for your exact model with the exact options! (for us the total was $24,472)
-next, subtract what you pay and for us this was $16,900 (this does not include the taxes/fees). For us this is $7,572.
-then divide the difference you will pay from the MSRP. Ie: 7,572 divided by 24,472 = 31%. For us this was 31% but it’s said if you do 30% off MSRP for an RV you did very well; anymore and you spent more than you should’ve *See #3 above
-deal with the internet/fleet manager.
5.
NOW - TIME TO BUY based on above! Of course, go to wherever you need to make the actual purchase (the plus here is you now have some prices for negotiation at a local dealer!).
-decide on who you might make a final purchase with
-contact and deal with the “fleet manager” or “internet” manager at preferred dealer.
-make sure you print and bring the email quote to your dealer to negotiate the best offer possible (based on your research above!)
-keep in mind that unless you pick up your Jayco in Indiana, there will be additional costs for delivery to your dealer (usually non-negotiable).
