We are somewhat new to the RV life(March 2018) but have been tent/car camping since I was small in the early 80's. We had a great first year of RV'ing and then the flood gates opened with campers. Here in Texas, you have to book 6 months in advance for the state parks I grew up camping in. Before, you only really needed a month lead time. Just completely jammed up.

We've found great luck with hidden gems like some of the federal parks, C.O.E. lakes, L.C.R.A. parks, etc. that many new campers don't know about.

Maybe this is selfish but I am looking forward to the day when brand new campers decide it's too much work or they need to go back to indoor, air conditioned vacations! lol.

I am currently staying in a campground and helping out in maintenance in Colorado, we are full almost every night.
You can definitely tell the "newbie" RV people.

I try to help them as much as possible, I've been doing this my whole life. I am always amazed though how they hit the road towing 1000's of lbs (usually with the wrong size vehicle) without a clue as to what to do, dealers a lot of times give wrong advice, it's scary......

Backing into a site I think is a big problem for newbies. When our daughter got her first horse trailer many years ago we went to a school parking lot for her to practice. Backing, turning etc. She puts me to shame now with the big horse trailer she has now and places she can get it in to.
