QC Solutions

Quality is a topic we've beat to death but I think there is one area left unexplored, how the industry will fix it.

I don't believe they will start hiring skilled tradesman, slow down the line, add additional QC labor, or upgrade the materials used. Perhaps that is overly cynical but I don't think you can go wrong predicting American manufacturing is trying to cut costs and increase profits.

I think the solution they will find is in the engineering and design. Perhaps more 3D printed assemblies with lighter stronger materials that reach critical mass of production.

I'm already impressed with how they can haphazardly slap stuff together that has remained functional for years on my TTs. I'll accept items like where they cut a hidden 3" hole when they could carefully cut a 1" hole. It's faster. I'll accept designs that are created for ease of manufacturing not repairs (inside out building).

I agree and as the "supply chain" issues continue companies are relying more and more on manufacturing their own solutions. I manage operations and maintenance for a transportation company. We have purchased a plasma CNC machine as well as a commercial 3D printer just to help overcome some of the lack of available parts we are experiencing.

This supply chain / lack of quality parts issue has impacted a wide range of industries and will take outside the box thinking to overcome.
